‘It’s time’ to pray for our country

"We are tired of people taking the law into their own hands," states farmer-evangelist, Angus Buchan, in a press release regarding the event. "We are going to call upon the Lord to bring justice, peace and hope to our beloved South Africa. He says “If My people who are called by My name” – that is you and I. So I want to ask you to pray for us." Photo by Jericho Walls | International Prayer Network.

MEN and women of faith will gather on April 22 in Bloemfontein to take part in Angus Buchan’s National Day of Prayer.

“We are tired of people taking the law into their own hands,” states farmer-evangelist, Angus Buchan, in a press release regarding the event. “We are going to call upon the Lord to bring justice, peace and hope to our beloved South Africa. He says “If My people who are called by My name” – that is you and I. So I want to ask you to pray for us.”

The National Day of Prayer is set to kick off at 2pm, estimated time, at Wilde Als Farm, 27 Milnerweg, north of Bloemfontein and, according to Buchan, farmers, businessmen and people from all walks of life across the nation are on board.

With the gathering expected to draw 1 million people, this National Day of Prayer is certainly no small feat and Buchan maintains, “The reality of the enormity of this task hit me hard… This is so huge that if God doesn’t do it, it can’t work… You cannot afford to miss this happening that Jesus Christ has orchestrated.”

“We are going to pray that the Lord will set South Africa free,” he states in a video to the public, “Put an end to the violence, the murder, the rape, the disrespect for our fellow man. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

Local man, Karl Craus, feels passionate about the effects that this gathering will have on the country and urges churches throughout Vryheid to broadcast the event for those who are unable to attend.

“Everyone needs to be a part of this,” he encourages, “but for those who cannot be there in Bloemfontein, the churches in Vryheid, even across the country, for that matter, should bring it to them. An event like this can change people’s lives…”

Another local man of faith, Dirk Koekemoer, is urging the community to make every attempt to attend the gathering and to assist others in getting there.

“When you decide to go to Bloemfontein and you have got space in your vehicle, take someone with you,” he urges. “Fill up your vehicle. Every single person is important to God.”

“We are arranging a bus from Vryheid to Bloemfontein and back,” he adds.

There are limited seats available on the bus. If you would like further information regarding transport to the National Day of Prayer in Bloemfontein, contact Dirk Koekemoer on 082 323 2699 or email him at dirkkoekemoer69@gmail.com.

“If I ask you today, who is a Shark, Stormer, Blue Bull, Lion or Cheetah, a lot of people will raise their hands, but in fact, they are only supporters,” says Dirk. “The only Shark, Stormer, Blue Bull, Lion or Cheetah, is the player on the field. We invite you to be a player, not a supporter.”

“Angus Buchan called us together as a group of believers, as a country, to be still before God, to hear the answer He has for our future. We are living in a country with so many murders, rape, gruesome attacks, violence, even abortions – against all nations in South-Africa…”

“But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Let us put everything aside, our differences, the way we praise and the way we worship God. Let us stand before God – in harmony. How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony!

“Come and receive the blessing God wants to give us. A blessing commanded from God. Let us see the bigger picture. It is not about us, it is all about Jesus and His plan for every one of us.

“Cancel every other meeting and make sure you are there. I really believe this is the last chance that we will have in South Africa to bring normality back to this beloved nation.”

There is no charge for the National Day of prayer and entrance to the event is free.
