Black Whiskey rocking down south this weekend

Estiaan, Phillip and Kelvin make up the super talented local band, Black Whiskey.

THE Vryheid community has proven time and again that live music is a definite crowd pleaser as, gig after gig, the public has shown their support for local bands.

We cheer them on as they play to our familiar faces in the Vryheid crowds, but we experience a stronger sense of community pride when they share their talent with other communities and head out to put Vryheid on the music map, as it were.

This weekend will see local band, Black Whiskey doing exactly that, as they head down the coast for not one, but two gigs down south.

Saturday will see them playing at the Ballito Pro, the world’s longest continuously running professional surfing event, from 2pm to 3pm at The Retail Stage.

Vryheid band, Black Whiskey – ‘Everyone’s cup of tea’

On Sunday they will make their first appearance, as a band, at the Soul Sunday Sessions in Durban at the Northwood Crusaders Sports Club. They will be sharing the stage with Rox Baney and The Kickstands. The music will start at 12 midday, with local lads, Phillip Taylor, Kelvin Bland and Estiaan Fritze taking the stage as Black Whiskey from 4pm.
