AbaQulusi extends municipal boundaries and welcomes new communities

Four new communities have joined AbaQulusi Municipality.

AbaQulusi council members met with the residents of KwaBanakile, Mandlakayise, Fuduka and Thekwane villages who have recently been incorporated into ward 1 and 6 of AbaQulusi Municipality from uPhongolo Municipality after the recent demarcations.

The villages of KwaBanakile, Fuduka and Thekwane have been incorporated into Ward 1, while Mandlakayise was incorporated into Ward 6.

During community meetings, residents of these villages were welcomed into AbaQulusi.

The meetings  also served as an important platform through which residents of these villages had an opportunity to influence service delivery and propose which issues should be prioritised in their areas.

People aired their frustration in relation to services, mainly regarding the supply of water and electricity.

The speaker of the council, Cllr Michael Khumalo, and other members of the council, assured these community members that they would receive proper sustainable service delivery going forward.
