Acting MM says goodbye

Acting Municipal Manager, Dalisu Zulu said that he was grateful to members of the council for having given him this opportunity.

LAST week Thursday was AbaQulusi’s acting Municipal Manager, Dalisu Zulu’s last sitting, as council was to discuss the fate of the MM position during the meeting.

Saying his goodbye’s as acting municipal manager, Mr Zulu thanked members of council for having given him the opportunity to manage the town even if for a little while.

“I would also like to thank the Chief Financial Officer for working together with me to ensure that we steered the ship and that it did not sink,” he said.

Mr Zulu said, with everyone’s help, he was able to keep things afloat despite having had the daunting task of leading five departments in the municipality.

He also recalled how he had said that he was up for the task when he was initially asked to step in as acting municipal manager and pointed out to council that at least 80% of the short term goals they had set out for him had been achieved.

“We have managed to pave a way for the long term goals that the council has envisioned for this town and we are hoping that the new management will continue where we left off,” he said.

In conclusion the acting MM said that he was highly grateful for the opportunity he had been given and apologised sincerely to members of council for any instances where they had not seen eye-to-eye.
