UPDATE: Sexual assault case against AbaQulusi’s deputy mayor is postponed

Cllr Maphisa will appear again in court in April.

The sexual assault case against AbaQulusi’s Deputy Mayor, Mncedisi Maphisa, has been postponed to April 3, for further investigation.

The deputy mayor was charged with sexual assault, indecent exposure and compelling/forcing a person to witness self-masturbation after he allegedly forced a woman he had given a lift to Vryheid from Ulundi to touch his genitals then proceeded to touch himself when she refused.

Cllr Maphisa appeared in the Vryheid Magistrate’s B court in November last year and was released on R3000 bail.
