Vryheid Rugby Club takes a knock as thieves make off with jerseys

Both sets of second team jerseys were stolen from Vryheid Rugby Club recently. R1000 reward is on offer for the safe return of the jerseys.

VRYHEID Rugby Club has sent out an urgent plea to the community to assist them with tracking down two sets of stolen rugby jerseys.

Following their arduous triumph over Richard’s Bay last Saturday, Vryheid’s second team had reason to celebrate. Their celebration turned to despair however, when it was discovered, at the start of the following week, that both sets of second team rugby jerseys had been stolen from the club.

While it appears that nothing else was stolen and no sign of forced entry was noted, investigations are underway and forensic evidence will be gathered to track down the thieves.

This recent attack on the club begs the question, what possible motive could there be for this apparent act of sabotage on Vryheid Rugby Club’s second team specifically?

A reward of R1000 will be offered for the safe return of the jerseys and anyone who can assist with information leading to the recovery of the jerseys should contact club chairman, Mornè Ellis on 083 299 1097.
