AbaQulusi Community Radio has secured a signal but still lacks funds

The radio stations board members met up with Pastor T Magubane to discuss more means to raise funds.

ABAQULUSI Community Radio has a new board and they have their sleeves rolled up and are ready to finalise all the preparations to go on air.

This past Saturday, ACR met up with Pastor T Magubane to discuss means of raising funds to ensure that the project takes off.

The treasurer, Quinton Fuzani, explained how they have worked on implementing things like membership fees, as a means to fund the administrative aspect of the project.

The group is looking to start on a small scale, rather than a multi-million rand studio, and are currently seeking out stakeholders who would like to assist them financially.

The station has also secured a frequency, but all will be confirmed once their offices are in full swing.

The purpose of this meeting was to discuss how the local pastors could have a hand towards helping the station become a success.

Speaking to the board members, Pastor Magubane gave various ideas on how they could approach local businesses who would be more than willing to finance a project of this nature.

In closing, members set themselves the task of working within a time-frame to ensure that their goals are not just a pie in the sky.
