VRYHEID SAPS arrested three men that were found in possession of copper on Monday last week.
The police were tipped off about a suspicious Nissan NP200 vehicle that was loaded with copper and they traced the vehicle down to Stretch Crescent.
Police tried to flag the driver down but he allegedly did not stop.
The police then gave chase and the driver of the vehicle eventually stopped along the road to Newcastle.
Two maize meal sacks full of copper were found in the car.
The three men, L Kunene, M Masuku and S Mbikwa were arrested.
Investigations are still under way but the three are believed to be connected to other cases.
