WRAPPING up a very successful season and preparing for an exciting new one, the Vryheid Luremasters gathered for its annual general meeting on August 11.
The Luremasters, accompanied by family and friends, gathered for prizegiving, the election of a new committee and a celebratory braai afterward.
Christo van Rheede van Oudtshoorn was elected as chairman, with John Cannon as vice chairman and Ina van Rheede van Oudtshoorn as treasurer. The titles of weighmaster and club captain went to Brian Stoltz and Ajay Mohunram was elected as secretary, as well as booking officer. Michelle Victor was elected as media officer.

This will be the committee for the 2018/2019 season and the club congratulates all the new committee members.
It has also been decided that the annual subscriptions for 2018/2019 season will be R450 for members. All interested parties should note only paid up members can participate in the leagues and roving leagues.
The prizegiving saw the following members receiving trophies for their fishing efforts for the year: Christo van Rheede van Oudtshoorn, Tiens Cilliers, Brian Stoltz, Zane Formo, John Cannon, Johan Grobler, John Bevan, Ina van Rheede van Oudtshoorn and Jival Monhunram.
The first league for the new season will be held on September 1 at a private dam from 6am to 6pm.
