Green strips issued as the Watch waits for green light ruling

Green reflective magnetic strips are being issued to patrolling members in order to provide an adequate form of identification, along with the Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch emblem on their vehicles.

YOU may be able to take away Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch’s green light privileges, but you can’t take away their will and dedication to keeping their community safe.

This is evident in the recent addition of green reflective magnetic strips being issued to patrolling members in order to provide an adequate form of identification, along with the Vryheid Neighbourhood Watch emblem on their vehicles.

“We hope that this will provide some clarity when it comes to telling our vehicles apart from suspicious vehicles that are up to no good,” states communications officer and active patrolling member, Chris Marais.

“We hope the green light issue is resolved as soon as possible,” he adds. “But, in the meantime, we will continue to work towards our goal of keeping Vryheid safe and make do with what we have…”
