VRYHEID parkrun started on June 16 this year and, with 15 events taking place so far, the initiative is certainly making great strides as it forges ahead.
Since its inception, 746 participants have completed 2,417 parkruns covering a total distance of 12,085 km, including 593 new Personal Bests.
Last Saturday, 152 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 24 were first timers and 45 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 6 different clubs took part.
The event was made possible by 12 volunteers: Rene and Glen Matthews, Smuts van der Nest, Marlene Bean, Amanda Vergottini, Sally Ann Moolman, Marianne le Roux, Paula Small, John and Ruth McKenzie, Elsabe Smit and Annel Prinsloo.
