THERE is no excuse, as a responsible pet owner, for not having your pets vaccinated against the rabies virus.
The state veterinary department has rolled out a rabies vaccination campaign from October 8 to October 13, covering Vryheid as well as Bhekuzulu, Lakeside and the Sasko area.
All you need to do to protect your pets, as well as yourself and your loved ones, from this deadly and incurable virus is take advantage of this free opportunity offered by the state vet to be a responsible pet owner and have your pets vaccinated.
October 8 and 9 saw the campaign make its way to Bhekuzulu location and Lakeside was scheduled for October 10, followed by the Sasko and dumpsite area on October 11.
The rabies vaccinations will continue on October 12 in Vryheid at the following times and venues:
– 7am – 9am: At the corner of Klein and Annemoon Streets
– 9:30am – 11:30am – The fire department at the corner of High and South Streets (Fire Brigade)
– 12:00 – 2pm: The Trimpark at the corner of Heeren and West Street
– 3:30pm 5:30pm: The corner of Spoor Street and Nyala Drive
On October 13, the campaign will continue at the following street corners:
7am – 9am: Smal and Park (Paddadam)
9:15am – 11:15am: Brecher and Hoog
11:30am – 1:30pm: Kerk and Edward.
Under no circumstances will animals be vaccinated at their homes. All animals must be taken to the relevant venues to be vaccinated.
